I was really hoping for another Patrick Reed-Jordan Spieth pairing at the Presidents Cup this year. The duo dominated the matches they were paired together, finishing with a result of 2-0-1 and winning in commanding fashion.

When Captain Jay Haas said Dustin Johnson and Jordan Spieth, I was a little confused, but then I learned out the reasoning. Spieth had apparently requested that he be paired with DJ. When Haas was asked about it, he said, “They have been wanting this pairing,” Haas said. “And what Jordan wants, Jordan gets right now. So that was our thinking there.”

There you have it. Whenever you make a Presidents Cup roster, you get whatever it is that you may want. Except it’s a peanut butter and jelly sandwich, then you’re screwed.
