Jordan Spieth–If you were expecting the world No. 1 to go undefeated this week, you might have been disappointed, but those with more reasonable expectations were impressed by Spieth’s performance. He and Dustin Johnson added up to a productive pairing, while a brief reunion with Patrick Reed resulted in a point. His loss to Marc Leishman in Sunday singles was discouraging, but at least it was close–remember, in this great game of ours, luck plays an important role, even for the best of the best. Playing in all five sessions is a lot of high-intensity golf in a short amount of time; after the whirlwind year he’s had, Spieth did well to go out and win more than half of his matches. Besides, he did a lot better than Team International’s big star–that has to count for something, right? Grade: A-
