Presidents Cup Report Card: Team USA

Bill Haas–The son of the captain Jay Haas, Bill had to have felt the pressure to perform this week, and he delivered. Playing just twice in the first three days, Haas’ partners were Team USA’s weakest links: the rusty Chris Kirk in fourballs and the (apparently) ice-cold Matt Kuchar in foursomes. Over that stretch, he went winless, only able to salvage a half-point by halving the foursome with Bae and Hideki Matsuyama. On Sunday, however, Haas was tasked with playing the final match of the day and wound up clinching the Cup for Team USA with a 2-up win over Bae. To make such great family memories and sink the winning putt of an international match play competition all in the same week…I can’t give too low of a grade for that. Grade: B+
