J.B. Holmes–He was a late addition to the roster, but Holmes’ Presidents Cup debut was a resounding success. One of just three Americans to play in every session, he found an ideal partner in Bubba Watson and went 2-1-1 over the first three days, losing only to the dynamite tandem of Oosthuizen and Grace. His singles match with Hideki Matsuyama was a battle, but the man from Japan finally took it, 1-up. After his hot start, many expected Holmes’ final record to be better, but he was still in the top half of points scorers for Team USA. Not bad for a guy who wasn’t even supposed to make the trip.
