Dustin Johnson–Why was Johnson the luckiest player on Team USA last week? Because he got to team up with Jordan Spieth for the first three sessions, winning two matches over that stretch. After sitting out on Saturday afternoon, Johnson drew the struggling Danny Lee in Sunday singles, and despite some hiccups, he won by a slim margin, giving his team the go-ahead point in what had been a dead heat. It’s tempting to penalize him for his virtual monopoly of Spieth, but I’m not going to do that; while Spieth is clearly more skilled, their wins were team efforts. Let’s give credit where credit is due: Johnson finished off his strong comeback season with a strong match play performance for Team USA. Grade: B+
