The last event of the 2015 European Tour regular season tees off this week at the UBS Hong Kong Open, which means the Final Series for the Race to Dubai is on the horizon.

The Race to Dubai is essentially the FedEx Cup Playoffs for the European Tour and consists of the 47 tournaments spanning throughout the 2015 season, ending with the Final Series. After the Hong Kong Open, only the top 60 golfers in the Race to Dubai standings will advance to the final events.

The Final Series starts with the Turkish Airlines Open next week and is followed by the WGC-HSBC Champions, The BMW Masters, and the DP World Tour Championship in Dubai.

Winner of the Race to Dubai is awarded the Harry Vardon Trophy and a seven year European Tour card exemption, while the winner of the DP World Tour Championship receives a five year European Tour exemption.

A Race to Dubai Bonus Pool of $5 million (USD) is divided amongst the top 15 golfers following the conclusion of the DP World Tour Championship. Those golfers who participate in three of four Final Series events will receive an additional bonus of $1,365,500 (USD), a theory the FedEx Cup Playoffs should consider using.

With that in mind, let’s take a look at the current top five in the Race to Dubai standings.
