4. Shane Lowry
The Irishman Shane Lowry got his big break earlier this year at the WGC-Bridgestone Invitational. Remembered mostly for his amazing recovery shot on the 10th hole, Lowry was able to hold off Bubba Watson by two strokes to win his only event of the season.
His showing at the WGC-Bridgestone Invitational made up for a T-81 at The Open Championship and a T-31 at the Aberdeen Asset Management Scottish Open.
Lowry followed up his victory with a poor showing at the PGA Championship where he tied for 78th, but he was able to get back on track for his final events of the season.
Shane finished T-19 at the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship, which could have been even better if it wasn’t for his opening round 74. From there, Lowry had his second best finish at the British Masters where he tied as runner-up.
Lowry comes in at 17th on the European Tour in stroke average, 24th in greens in regulation, and eighth in sand saves.
