The former world No. 1 is no stranger to the Race to Dubai. Rory McIlroy comes in third on the all-time career money list on the European Tour and has won the Race twice in his career, dating back to 2012 and his most recent being in 2014.

The Ulsterman has had a busy season trying to balance life on both the European Tour and PGA TOUR, which could affect his performance in these next few weeks. Hopefully the travel doesn’t catch up to him at an unfortunate time of the schedule.
Despite having a down year, McIlroy has held the No. 1 spot in the standings. His two wins came at the WGC-Cadillac Championship and the Omega Dubai Desert Classic back in January.
Rory got off to a hot start by placing in the top 10 for his first five events, but has hit a slump towards the end of the season. He ended the year by placing in six top 10s out of the nine European Tour events he entered.
He ranks second in scoring average on the Tour with 69.93 and he’s also second in greens in regulation. McIlroy comes in 17th for putts per GIR and fifth in sand saves.
Although he’s hit a rough stretch, this isn’t Rory’s first rodeo with the Race to Dubai. His experience will come into play down the stretch as he goes for his third title.
