The PGA Tour sets up shop in Las Vegas, Nevada this week for the Shriners Hospitals for Children Open.

TPC Summerlin is one of the easiest courses on the PGA Tour schedule. So, If you like a ton of birdies and eagles, this is the tournament to watch.

The winner will be well under par as the winner in the last five years has been 20-under or better. We have an entertaining course in terms of scoring and the field is pretty solid as well.

As we’ve been seeing more and more in these type of tournaments, the field is stronger than usual. That has a lot to do with the amount of young talent coming up and the PGA Tour’s FedEx Cup point system.

The system rewards golfers that play early and often and some of the big names are realizing that and don’t want to be behind the eight ball by the time the Florida swing in February/March comes around.

With that, let’s get into the Shriners Open featured groups to watch for this week.

Oh, one final thought, not only are we going over the featured groups, but we’ll also pick out a handful of golfers to watch for in the final slide that may not be in a “featured” group.

For example, Patrick Rodgers is playing with partners that you don’t necessarily want to watch, but you want to watch Rodgers. If that makes sense. I’m hoping it does. Anyway, let’s get on with the show.
