The WGC-HSBC Champions is one of my favorite tournaments of the year. Not only is it a WGC event where we get a strong field, but this is a tournament that concludes at night.
I absolutely love some night-time golf. It’s nice to unwind after a long day and watch some golf in the late evening. Crack a window open, get a cool breeze going and just relax on the couch.
Unfortunately, for some reason, DraftKings is limiting the prizes in golf. The prize pool is a little bit more than last week, but not nearly enough of a significant bump.
A bunch of contests filled in with no problem last week at the CIMB Classic even with the NBA season kicking off.
We saw a bunch of money being given away throughout the year, but since the start of the 2015-16 PGA Tour season the prizes have been scaled back significantly, for some reason. We can only hope that things pick up in January.
Bombers typically do well here at Sheshan. That’s not to say control golfers don’t do well, but it leans slightly in favor of power golfers.
Bubba Watson won last year, Dustin Johnson has won in the past, and Phil Mickelson has won twice here. On the flip side, Ian Poulter, Martin Kaymer, and Francesco Molinari have won here, as well.
All in all, there is more than one way to skin a cat, but for me I typically lean towards the power golfer in this one.
Also, with no cut grabbing some of those highly erratic golfers that birdie and eagle a bunch of holes will help your DraftKings score.
Alright, I think we talked enough, let’s get into specifics and target some golfers. Here are the WGC-HSBC Champions DraftKings fantasy picks.
