Make sure your club face, feet and shoulders are connected to that visual line of flight.

Now I have my driving line.  It’s three feet long, starting with the back of my ball — the point of impact — and ending with that small irregularity I marked.  All I have to do is line up the pieces along that line: my feet, my shoulders, and my club face.

I always start with my club face since its responsible for getting the job done.  Then I check my feet.  They need to be parallel to that line.  Then my shoulders, which must also be parallel and positioned over my feet.  If I get this right I feel balanced.  If I don’t feel balanced and grounded, I’m not on line.

At this point the feeling is all in my feet.  My club is resting on the ground and my hands are supporting it but not gripping it.

10 seconds, unless I need to rebalance.
