$11,700 to $10,000

To start, there is a lot of value this week. This is one of those tournaments where leaving as much money on the table is probably the best way to go.

The only safe bet I see in this range is Matt Kuchar ($11,700). When you have Patton Kizzire at $10,700, Harris English at $10,200, and Charley Hoffman at $10,100 you know you have a very shaky field.

There’s really no point in trying to pay up for those golfers. They aren’t exactly a safe bet to contend or even make the cut.

Russell Knox ($10,000) has been an iron man to start the 2015-16 PGA Tour season. Not only is Knox playing every week, but he has been very good with his highlight coming last week as he won the WGC-HSBC Champions.

Knox is very strong tee-to-green the only red flag I see from his is that he is coming off a win and he has been traveling all around the world. Will he be focused this week? Tough to say.

Personally, he’ll make a couple of my teams, but he won’t be a core play. Normally he would be because of his ball-striking, but you have to factor in fatigue and motivation. He may start dragging just a little bit and might not be up 100% this week.

I’m a big fan of Patrick Rodgers ($10,500) I believe he will profile into a Brooks Koepka like golfer. He’ll have a pretty nice season and rack up a ton of DK points and a ton of quality finishes.

That has worked well thus far as he is three for three in made cuts and his worse finish came last week at Sanderson Farms where he finished T-20.

With that said, I’m not crazy about Rodgers in this spot. The course doesn’t set up well and at this price that is a lot to pay up for. I’d rather go up to Kuchar.

If you can’t afford to do that, pivoting down to Jason Bohn ($10,300) isn’t a bad option either.

Bohn has just been killing it for a while now. Bohn has started off the season with T-3, T-2, and T-39. And he has finished 7-3-19 in his last three starts here at Mayakoba.
