Can Lydia Ko do it twice, back-to-back?  That’s the question we’re all asking, and statistically speaking, the odds are probably against Ko pulling off back-to-back double lifts.  However, this is a long shot I wouldn’t bet against.

  • Lydia Ko has followed up her phenomenal rookie year with an equally spectacular sophomore year on the Tour: 16 top-10 finishes, five of those victories, her first major championship title at the Evian.

In terms of performance stats Ko isn’t the best in anything, and yet in terms of the total package she’s as close to perfection as any golfer who’s ever teed it up.

Now she’s the player everybody’s chasing, and that’s a tough spot.  We’ll get a close look at Ko’s mental game in Naples, because that’s where it’s going to come down.  It’s not a question of her technical game.  That’s already been settled.  Now Lydia Ko must defend her lead against the likes of Inbee Park and Stacy Lewis, who are going to be throwing everything in their bags at her.
