After just missing out on the PGA TOUR Rookie of the Year, Justin Thomas is on a mission to make a name for himself this season.
Justin Thomas a.k.a “Jordan Spieth’s good friend” is a narrative that needs to come to an end in the golfing community, but that’s an issue I’ll save for another day.
JT is on a mission to put that narrative to rest as well, especially after the rookie season he’s coming off. Thomas just missed out on PGA TOUR’s Rookie of the Year Award to Daniel Berger.
His rookie campaign consisted of seven top-10 finishes, 15 top 25s, and 23 made cuts all in 30 starts. He found himself in contention plenty of times last year, but he stumbled down the stretch and was unable to close out those opportunities.
This year has treated him well, however. He learned from his rookie mistakes and closed out the CIMB Classic for his first career victory on TOUR.
Winning right of the bat can do wonders for a golfer’s confidence. It sets the tone for the season with a winning attitude. With a win under his belt, you can only imagine Thomas has his eyes set on bigger and better things like a major.
