23. Patty Sheehan

Sheehan turned professional in 1980 and was Rookie of the year in 1981. Within four years had already won two majors. She won four tournaments in 1983 and 1984, including an LPGA Championship each year.

She was LPGA Player of the Year in 1983 and won the Vare Trophy for low scoring average in 1984. She won 30 tournaments within 10 years.

In the 1990s, Sheehan stepped up her game again, winning four more majors. In 1992, she captured her first of two U.S. Women’s Opens. In 1993 she added another LPGA Championship. In 1996, she won the Kraft, the final major of her career. She won the Women’s British Open in 1992, before it was considered a major.
Sheehan had 42 victories in all, 35 of them on the LPGA Tour.
