12. Betsy Rawls

Rawls was one of the elite players in LPGA history. She won eight majors in her career, including two LPGAs, four U.S. Women’s Opens, and two Women’s Western Opens. Only she and Mickey Wright won four U.S. Women’s Opens.

Her two best seasons were 1952 when she won eight tournaments and 1959 when she won 10 tournaments. She was leading money winner in 1952 and 1959 and won the Vare Trophy for low scoring average in 1959.

In her first major victory, the 1951 US. Women’s Open, she defeated Louise Suggs. She would go on to win that championship three more times, defeating Jackie Pung in 1953, Patty Berg in 1957 and Joyce Ziske in 1960 a remarkable four times. Rawls won two Women’s Western Opens, against Betty Jameson in 1952 and Joanne Carner and Patty Berg in 1959. She also won the 1969 LPGA Championship over Carol Mann and Susie Berning.

Rawls won 58 times worldwide and 55 times on the LPGA.
