By Matt Cochran
19. 2007 TOUR Championship
The 2007 season marked the inaugural FedEx Cup Playoffs and it’s only fitting that Tiger Woods won the Playoffs with his win at East Lake.
He was the top player in the world at the time and proved why with his run through the playoffs. Woods sat out the first event, but placed runner-up at the Deutsche Bank Championship and then won the BMW Championship as well as the TOUR Championship. During those three tournaments, Tiger was a combined 59-under par with a scoring average of 65.75.
Woods won the TOUR Championship with a score of -23, eight strokes better than the closest competitor. It broke the tournament record at East Lake and was the third best 72-hole score in the history of golf.
He was dialed in with his irons, hitting 80.56% of greens in regulation that was the best percentage of any of his tournaments for that season. He gained 1.552 strokes with his putting and was third overall in ball striking. The 2007 TOUR Championship capped off a seven-win season for Big Cat.
