15. 2013 PLAYERS Championship

If you’ve followed Tiger Woods’ career, then you know that he’s not very fond of Sergio Garcia. I would say they have a rivalry, but Tiger owns Sergio, and the 2013 PLAYER Championship is just another example of that.

Garcia found himself in the final grouping with David Lingmerth, while Tiger was in the group ahead of them. All three entered Sunday with a share of the lead.

Coming down the stretch, Sergio made an impressive birdie on the 16th hole to tied Woods for the lead. Unfortunately for the Spaniard, the 17th island green awaited him. Woods got out of the 17th with a par, but Garcia wasn’t so lucky.

Sergio hit his tee shot into the water and then hit his second shot in the water as well. He took a quadruple bogey and essentially Sergio Garcia’d himself out of contention. Not only did he collapse on the 17th, Sergio hit his tee shot on the 18th in the water and finished with a double bogey.

Tiger held of Garcia by six shots after being tied for the lead on the 17th tee box. It was the second time he won The PLAYERS Championship, and it happened to be his 300th start on the PGA TOUR.
