Tiger Woods: 30 Best Wins of His Career
By Matt Cochran
14. 2006 PGA Championship
It’s hard to put Tiger’s major wins into a ranking and say one is better than the other, but the 2006 PGA Championship would fall towards the bottom of the list. It was the third time Woods won the PGA Championship, and there was no one standing in his way.
The major was hosted at Medinah Country Club and was one of the longest venues in major history. That didn’t stop Woods from going 8-under on the lengthy par 5s. He dominated the field, cruising to a five-shot victory over Shaun Micheel.
Tiger’s strong suit for the week was with his irons. He ranked 7th overall for the week while his putting was the weaker part of his game.
He became the first person to win the PGA Championship twice at the same venue and fifth player to win the PGA Championship three time. The win also helped him pass Walter Hagen on the all-time majors list.
