Tiger Woods: 30 Best Wins of His Career
By Matt Cochran
12. 2002 Masters
Augusta National lengthened the course and added trees for the 2002 Masters, but that didn’t stop Tiger Woods from winning his third career Masters and second Green Jacket.
Woods won by three shots over Retief Goosen with a score of 12-under. He entered the final round, tied with Goosen at -11, but Tiger wasn’t intimidated. He became the third player in history to win back-to-back Masters, joining Jack Nicklaus and Nick Faldo as the only golfers to do so.
There was a pack of stars chasing after Woods on that Sunday. Names like Ernie Els, Vijay Singh, Phil Mickelson, and Sergio Garcia, but there was no one that could stand in his way.
Tiger was playing at another level during this time and still cruised to victory with a final round 71. He bogeyed two of his last eight holes and only hit seven fairways, but held onto a three-stroke victory.
