Tiger Woods: 30 Best Wins of His Career
By Matt Cochran
7. 2001 Masters
What some would argue as the greatest stretch of golf ever played, the 2001 Masters was the cherry on top. Tiger Woods’ victory at the 2001 Masters marked the completion of the “Tiger Slam.” He won the U.S. Open, British Open, and PGA Championship in 2000 and held all four majors with his win at Augusta.
It was the fourth consecutive major title and revived the discussion of Grand Slam talks for the first time since Bobby Jones in 1930.
He was paired with Phil Mickelson in the final pairing, but Lefty simply couldn’t stir anything together and finished three back of Woods. David Duval was one of the only golfers to give Tiger a run but fell short by two strokes.
Woods won his sixth major championship and second green jacket. It was after this Masters victory that Augusta National decided to “Tiger Proof” the hallowed grounds by moving tee boxes back and adding trees all over the course.
