Jack Nicklaus wanted to design a course in his hometown of Dublin, Ohio and he wanted it to be a memorable course. Mission accomplished.
Muirfield Village is a wonderfully designed course that pays homage to many courses including Muirfield over in Scotland.
Muirfield was the course Jack Nicklaus won his first of three Open Championships back in 1966 and that inspired him to create a course in his hometown.
Not only is Muirfield Village inspired by Muirfield, but it is also designed after Augusta National.
You can see the inspiration when you take one look at Muirfield Village. With the long tree-lined course and beautiful green grass all around, golfers that play Augusta National well typically play well at Muirfield Village.
Muirfield Village plays host to The Memorial Tournament played every year on the PGA Tour.
Muirfield Village has also hosted some different events including the Presidents Cup, the Solheim Cup, and the Ryder Cup.
