In order to accommodate the 2019 Open Championship, some changes will be made to the course including lengthening holes, taking out holes, replacing holes, etc.

It will be interesting to see the new look Royal Portrush Golf Club in a few years.

While Royal Portrush has only hosted one major, soon to be two in a few years, it has hosted its fair share of other events.

It has hosted The Amateur Championship three times including as recently as 2014, and it has hosted the Irish Open four times including as recently as 2012.

One final accolade to include is that Darren Clarke proclaimed that Royal Portrush Golf Club was his favorite golf course in the world.
