  • When it comes to Lydia Ko it’s hard to pick a single moment in the season that stands out. Ko is a phenomenal athlete who inspires and amazes. The records are being broken faster than we can write about them!

So why the Evian Championship victory above all the other accomplishments Lydia Ko achieved this year? I think Evian represented a personal triumph for the teenager. Despite her obviously outstanding athletic talent, Ko hadn’t performed very well in the majors. The reason seems obvious to me. She was dealing with a mental block.

If we play golf we know about those mental blocks. We all have them and, frankly, there was a certain personal comfort in watching Lydia Ko deal with hers. I found her conquest of that barrier, more than any of her other 2015 achievements, extraordinarily inspiring.
