1. The Spieth Slam
When one thinks of great seasons on the PGA TOUR, Tiger Woods’ 2000 year comes to mind as does Byron Nelson’s 1945. After 2015, there’s a new candidate for the greatest season ever played and it’s courtesy of Jordan Spieth.
Spieth became the youngest player since Gene Sarazen in 1922 to collect two majors before their 22nd birthday. He did so by winning the first two majors of the year with the Masters and U.S. Open at Chambers Bay. The 22 year old headed to St Andrews with an opportunity to collect the first three majors of the year in what became known as the Spieth Slam.
He ultimately fell short at the British Open, but he still finish tied for fourth after just missing out on a playoff. Regardless, his year was one of the most memorable the TOUR has ever seen. Here’s a look a some of his impressive accomplishments this in 2015.
- Led 21 statistics on the PGA TOUR including scoring average (68.938) and putting average (1.699)
- Won five tournaments, including over $22 million in earnings
- $3,623 per shot
- Lowest collective score in all four majors (54-under)
- 1,090 strokes
- Awards
- PGA TOUR Player of the Year
- Vardon Trophy
- Byron Nelson Award (scoring average)
- Arnold Palmer Award (money leader)

The beautiful part about Jordan Spieth’s incredible season is that he’s showed no signs of slowing down. He could very well come out in 2016 and grab the two majors that he didn’t win this year. Golf is in good hands, people.
