Almost 40 years of age, Zach Johnson has at least one more rodeo left in him.
One of two reigning major champions on this list, Johnson is in a great position to make what could be his final Ryder Cup squad–after all, the Sea Island, Georgia resident will be on the wrong side of 40 by next September. Perhaps he can channel his inner Jim Furyk and hang around for a while longer, but we need to view that as the exception, not the rule.
At any rate, Johnson’s 2,285 points put him fairly close to where he needs to be to make next year’s team. A slow starter over the past couple of seasons, he shouldn’t have to stress too much–a few decent finishes should be enough, and if not, his annual top three at the John Deere Classic will put him over the top.
