The Open Championship – St Andrews
Hole 18
Birdie
PGA TOUR was nice enough to give Zach Johnson’s birdie putt their shot of the year, but we run a tight ship here at PGN. Regardless, it was a huge shot and helped him put together his run as Champion Golfer of the Year.

Zach was left with a 30-footer for birdie on the 72nd hole at the Home of Golf. Taking his time to line up the putt, Johnson rolled in the putt to help him get to 15-under and put him in a three-way playoff for the Claret Jug.
He’d go on to hold off Louis Oosthuizen and Marc Leishman to collect the second major of the year. Most people and written Zach off, but he came out of no where and made an improbable run to win the British Open.
