The young veteran is looking to continue making cuts, but also get a signature win under his belt in 2016
It seems as if Tommy Fleetwood has been around for a while, but he has only been a full-time professional on the European Tour since 2012.
Like I say, it seems longer than that, but he has only been around for a few years. Plus, he is still a young guy; Fleetwood is still only 24 – he will be 25 in January – so he still has room to grow and get better.
In 2012, Fleetwood was very inconsistent. Fleetwood had his spells of good and bad. During a 12 event streak from April to July, Fleetwood missed the cut in nine of those events.
However, right after that cold spell Fleetwood bounced right back with six straight made cuts and he made the cut in eight of the last nine tournaments to end that season.
Fleetwood carried that momentum into 2013 where he only missed the cut in two of those tournaments. Plus, Fleetwood made finished inside the top eleven six times and even notched a win at the Johnny Walker Championship.
In 2013, Fleetwood didn’t win, but he did record six top five finishes, including three runner-up finishes.
In 2015, it was more of the same for Fleetwood as he was quality week in and week out as he made the cut in 20-of-25 tournaments and finished inside the top ten in three of those tournaments.
