It’s hard to believe, because it doesn’t seem like it, but Mario Golf came out over a year after Waialae Country Club.
From my memory bank it seems like Mario Golf came out years after Waialae because it seemed like, and I suppose it is, just a much better game and much better looking good.
Mario Golf on the Nintendo 64 was a trail blazer as the first cartoon 3D golf game to come out on the Nintendo 64 and this game still holds up.
To me, this is kind of like Mario Kart 64 where the years pass, but this game still holds up quite well. To this day, I still dust off the Nintendo 64 just to get a few rounds every so often.
That’s one of my go-to games along with Mario Kart 64 and Star Fox 64. I figure I have to give those games some shout outs, as well.
Like any good golfing game the putting has to be good and this is a game that punishes you if you don’t putt well.
You have to focus in and dial those putts to have any success. If you don’t you are going to be putting up snowman before you know it.
There is so much depth with so many characters to choose from, six championship courses and the gameplay spans from casual players that just want to have a good time to golf fans that are looking for a legitimate simulation.
