We talked about it a little bit, but the Tiger Woods PGA Tour series lost its magic in the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 era. It lost that touch of what made it such a fantastic series in the previous generation.
We’ve talked about some of the previous games in this generation in Tiger Woods PGA Tour 10, 12, and 13 and how those were good, quality games, but it was Tiger Woods PGA Tour 11 that came the closest to recapturing that magic.
Tiger Woods PGA Tour 11 improved upon the previous game’s gameplay and it made more strides into getting back to that the top of the mountain.
Tiger Woods PGA Tour 11 introduced the Ryder Cup for the first time. If you had a lot of friends to play with, this could have been an absolutely blast.
The game featured a massive 24 player online mode which gave players the opportunity to play as Team USA or Team Europe.
Tiger Woods PGA Tour 11 also introduced “True View” which was striving towards getting back that true to golf simulation it had lost.
This was a feature that didn’t allow you to zoom into the fairway or green to preview your shot. You had to rely on your caddie and map to navigate your way through a shot.
Tiger Woods PGA Tour 11 strived for its former glory and it came close to capturing it. This was a great game.
