6. Tiger Woods PGA Tour 05

Tiger Woods PGA Tour 05 continued and fed off the games that came before it.

Developer: Headgate Studios

Publisher: EA

Release Date: September 2004

It’s kind of weird as I write this because as you reach this slide, I’ve already written about the top three games. So it feels like I’m going to repeat myself, but you haven’t seen the text yet, so this is all new to you.

Anyway, Tiger Woods PGA Tour 05 was another great game that kept the same core of gameplay as the previous two iterations with some slight tweaks.

The biggest difference in this game compared to the previous two years is that the sensitivity in the analog swing is diminished. It’s definitely not as difficult nor as simulation geared like the others.

This one kept the same aggressive type presentation, but the gameplay started creeping closer to the arcade style, just slightly.

Tiger Woods PGA Tour 05 started opening its doors for more folks to enjoy – geared more toward a casual crowd – and that was apparent with the new “Tiger Vision” feature.

This gave folks the ability to read the green and give the speed and line for which they need to hit the ball in order for it to go in the hole.

Again, this game was more accessible for then casual fan and not quite as difficult nor as simulation geared as the previous games in the series.

That’s not to say this was a bad game, it wasn’t, it was a great game that was still tons of fun with features to keep you occupied for hours and hours.
