LPGA: Ten 2015 Hot Shots
The putt nets the score but the approach sets up the putt. Watch this one.
Too often, we get focussed on the putt that finishes a hole, particularly when that putt nets a sub-par score, forgetting that there was a shot that came before the putt and set it up. The approach is crucial.
Dame Laura Davies executed the approach to the 12th in her 1st round of the KPMG Women’s PGA Championship with sheer perfection. The eagle putt was almost an afterthought for the woman who would be on her way to a Hall of Fame induction in three days.
Dame Laura’s play epitomizes the spirit of the game for me. She gives every shot her full attention and complete effort and yet seems never to take the outcome more seriously than the overall pleasure of the competition.
