Four-time major champion Rory McIlroy should have no trouble qualifying for his fourth Ryder Cup.

Team Europe supporters can breathe a sigh of relief knowing that their continent’s top-ranked player is in an excellent spot to make his fourth consecutive Ryder Cup team. A nice run of top 11 finishes through the Race to Dubai Final Series, culminating with a win at the season-ending DP World Tour Championship, has been his primary path to the first slot.

With eight worldwide victories over the last 24 months, McIlroy has been the most complete and dominant player to come up in recent memory. Even if he somehow falters and fails to qualify on merit, he’ll be sporting the Team Europe colors at Hazeltine as a slam dunk captain’s pick.
