Matthew Fitzpatrick is well-positioned to make in 2016 his first of what should be many Ryder Cup appearances.

Ever since he won the U.S. Amateur in 2013, fans have known that Fitzpatrick stands a good chance of making a Ryder Cup team someday–they just didn’t know how quickly that day would come. Still just 21 years old, the Englishman is about as green as can be, yet he sits in third place on the European Points List.

With an inaugural win at the British Masters and nine other top 10s throughout the year, Fitzpatrick has proven himself to be a capable player with a versatile game. If he makes the team, he’ll be Team Europe’s youngest player since McIlroy in 2010.
