Women’s Golf: 10 to Watch in 2016
Charley Hull has the potential to dominate the field and make a charge for the top of the rankings, if she decides to focus on golf.
It’s tempting to take a pass on Charley Hull. She didn’t exactly take the LPGA by storm, all predictions to the contrary notwithstanding. But let’s not forget that Hull played 2015 with a foot in both camps. The 2013 LET Rookie of the Year, the 2014 LET Order of Merit winner, played a limited LPGA schedule in 2015.

Hull made 13 starts, made 13 cuts, and recorded 3 top-10 finishes in LPGA events. She also played a full schedule on the Ladies European Tour with similar results.
Then there was the 2015 Solheim Cup. Charley put four points on the board for the Europeans, falling finally to Cristie Kerr in their singles match.
I described Hull as a casual rookie last year when she earned her LPGA card. Her technical game puts Charley Hull among the game’s greats. When she settles down to some serious competition, her play puts there there too.
It’s almost impossible to predict which Charley will show up at the first tee on any given week. Will it be the relentless competitor whose golf swing seems at time like an exercise in controlled violence or will be it be the kid who clowned around the Team Europe locker room at the 2015 Solheim Cup?
