The European Tour tees off at the BMW South African Open this week. Here’s a look at the power rankings for the field.

Welcome to the 2016 golf season! This week starts the 2016 South African Open at the Glendower Golf Club in Ekurhuleni. This event is one of the oldest national Opens, dating back to 1903.

The Open has been co-sanctioned by the European and Sunshine Tours since 1997. The Sunshine Tour is based out of South Africa and was dominated for years by Gary Player.

The Open is very fortunate to have two big names that headlines the event. BMW is now the sponsoring company to add value to an event that is currently hosted by Ernie Els. Els for Autism  and Ernie Els & Fancourt Foundation are the two charity beneficiaries in 2016. This partnership will be a great boost for the event.

There are some familiar faces that will be playing here along with some new ones that will be interesting to watch. Here are the top 10 players going into this week’s event.
