Jordan Spieth: A Lookback at His 7 Career PGA TOUR Wins
By Ryan Andrade
Jordan Spieth has put 7 wins on his resume in 26 months. Here’s how it played out.
Jordan Spieth turned pro in December 2012. He had no apparent avenue open to professional competition in the 2013 playing year except 7 sponsor exemptions allowed by the PGA TOUR. Twenty-six months later Jordan Spieth has become the unquestioned best player in the game. His rise in the OWGR is nothing less than meteoric.
Jordan Spieth is 22-years old. He hasn’t even come close to his prime golf years. Jordan Spieth figures to be the dominant face of golf for years to come.
From a young age, many could tell Jordan Spieth was something special. He joined Tiger Woods as the only players to win multiple U.S. amateurs. He then went to the University of Texas, where he lead his team to a National Title. After the victory, he decided to leave Texas early and turn professional at the age of 19. Since then, Jordan Spieth has accomplished more on the PGA TOUR than most players reach in two decades of pro competition.
Jordan Spieth is going into the 2016 calendar year with seven PGA TOUR victories on his resume. Two or those victories are major championships. Clearly, Jordan Spieth’s career is fully up and running.
As Spieth prepares to defend his first major championship title, The Masters, it’s timely to take a look back at his run to the top of the OWGR, beginning with his 2013 win at the John Deere.
