Those jugs of sand and rakes are there to be used – so use them!

My friend Barb is the best Golf Citizen I’ve ever known. She fills divots – hers and those others leave unfilled – and she rakes bunkers – hers and those of others in her foursome. She picks up my clubs and hers as we walk off the green.

Those jugs of sand on your cart and those rakes lying around the bunkers are there to be used. Unless you’re playing with a caddie you are both player and caddie. Fill your divots and rake your bunkers so the golf course will stay in good shape.

Unless you are one of the fortunate few to play only on courses with unlimited maintenance budgets your good citizenship is essential to keeping our playing ground in good shape. Nobody wants to try to hit their ball out of another player’s divot. Fill the darn things and move on.

Be like Barb. Be a good Golf Citizen!
