Australian Women’s Open Fantasy Golf Picks

The Australian Women’s Open field is packed with power. Three of the last 4 winners headline the field: Lydia Ko (2015), Karrie Webb (2014) and Jiyal Shin (2014).
The tri-sanctioned event attracts players from three major women’s tours – the LPGA, the Ladies European Tour (LET), and the Australian Ladies Professional Golf (ALPG) and as a result the field has a uniquely international flavor. Add to that the summery appeal of Down Under while Europe and North America are locked into frozen mid-winter and you have the makings of quite a golfing festival.
The Grange Golf Club – West Course – in South Australia is hosting the 5th edition of the Women’s Australian Open. The par-72 track will play 6600 yards this week.
Weather looks good for the week, with daytime temperatures ranging from the mid-20s to the mid-30s C/75-90°F and light to moderate winds. For the most part, expect partly sunny skies with a chance for a bit of rain on Friday and Saturday. In other words, it’s looking like perfect golf weather!
Ladies Dream Golf and other fantasy golf players will want to think in terms of both a winner and a winning team. I’ve sifted through the field and found some interesting possibilities for the Pick-4 contest, but team managers will have to make some tough choices this week.
Pick wisely and carefully!
