There is still no timetable for the return of Tiger Woods, but some new details indicate Big Cat isn’t progressing very quickly.

UPDATE (Feb 22): Tiger’s agent, Mark Steinberg, has since come out and denied these reports saying “The tweets that appeared this weekend about Tiger’s health are ridiculous and absolutely false. It’s reprehensible that every few months someone makes something up and it’s treated like a real story. Tiger continues to work on his rehabilitation and we will have an accurate update at the appropriate time.”

UPDATE (Feb 24): Tiger Woods posted this video to his Twitter.

The Honda Classic takes place this week at PGA National located in the Palm Beach area. The tournament is a popular event among the pros because many of them reside in that area. Rickie Fowler and Rory McIlroy both live in the Jupiter area, as well as Tiger Woods.

Woods lives just 20 minutes from PGA National, but his hiatus from golf is going on its 26th week and won’t be teeing it up this week at the Honda Classic. In fact, it could be quite some time before we even see Big Cat back on the golf course.

Currently the 444th golfer in the world, Woods hasn’t played competitive golf since the Wyndham Championship back in August. Soon after, Tiger underwent his second back surgery and hasn’t picked up a golf club since. Earlier this week, Eldrick’s agent, Mark Steinberg, told ESPN that there is no timetable for Tiger’s return.

It’s been a while since we’ve heard from Woods. He last addressed the media back in December in one of the most depressing press conferences we’ve ever seen from him. He talked about how all he could do was walk and eerily addressed his future saying, “If that’s all it entails, then I’ve had a pretty good run.”

If his future seemed uncertain back in December, then it who knows what’s in store for Big Cat after some details that leaked on Sunday.

@SecretTourPro is a Twitter account that claims to be an anonymous professional golfer playing on the PGA TOUR and European Tour. Whether you believe it’s a real account or not, the individual usually provides some interesting information., like the tweet he sent out on Sunday afternoon.

The account said a source informed him of Tiger Woods’ rehab status and it didn’t seem promising. After his first tweet, he followed it up with a lengthy note giving more details.

Again, you have to be careful with anonymous accounts, but it’s still some intriguing information. Along with what we already know about Tiger’s status, it may be a long time until we see Big Cat back in action.

A more credible source has since come out to update on Tiger’s recovery process. Golf writer Robert Lusetich tweeted on Monday morning.

The fact that we haven’t heard from him since December is red flags in itself. There has been no leak from anyone that he has been practicing.

The sources indicate that he was shooting for The PLAYERS Championship, but he’s already ruling that out. We still have three and a half months until that tournament. For him to be ruling it out already tells me that his recovery process isn’t going well.

He seemed so defeated the last time we heard from him and it doesn’t seem like much is progressing. I wouldn’t be surprised if we don’t see Tiger back in action for the whole year.

It doesn’t seem like he is in any shape to be playing golf and he doesn’t seem to be in a hurry to get back. He’s busy with life outside of golf like being a part of his kids’ lives. He’s starting to find happiness in life outside of golf. We may be entering a new era of Tiger Woods.
