The 16th hole always has an impact on who wins the Valspar Championship.

The middle hole in the three hole stretch called the “snake pit” at Innisbrook Golf Resort, is the most demanding hole on the course. Every shot makes you have to think about where I want to hit my next shot from.

I’ll let Kyaw Htet, the PGA Professional at Innisbrook Golf Resort, take you through this hole.

Made it look pretty easy, right? I can tell you it’s not. The 16th hole is all you can handle. You will see lots of drives missed left at this hole, as they fear the hazard on the right. There are all kinds of trees left of this fairway, and more often than not one of them will influence your second shot.

The green is no bargain either. For one it’s very tough to hit when the greens firm up as you will be coming in with a long iron. There is no real safe side to miss it here either. Players will usually take it at the center of the green no matter where the flag might be.

It’s the kind of hole the players are just looking to survive as they come down the stretch of the Valspar Championship.
