If the Grand Strand is a bit overwhelming for you – and it can be for some – think about meandering down to the southern end of the Grand Strand and taking some time out for the game at the militantly shabby Pawleys Island.

True Blue Golf Club has been carved from an old rice and indigo plantation and if you know anything about rice and indigo cultivation you’ll know that the True Blue’s terrain in going to provide some fun.  Mike Strantz designed the track to take full advantage of the natural beauty of the area, incorporating native grasses and vegetation to maintain much of the character of the colonial True Blue Plantation.

True Blue has a  dramatic, fun layout with vast fairways, undulating greens and impressive elevation changes. The rolling terrain and native vegetation of this once thriving indigo and rice plantation makes for one of the most spectacular settings in golf. And with an 18-acre practice facility, fully-stocked pro shop and inviting grill room, True Blue is a must-play for a spring golf getaway in the Southeast.

True Blue will cost a bit more than Barefoot and Tidewater, but if you can plan ahead and book your tee times on-line you can ease the strain on your wallet.
