Arnold Palmer Invitational Power Rankings
By Sam Belden
Matt Every has won the last two Arnold Palmer Invitationals. Who will pull it off this week and earn that handshake with The King?
It’s been a highly entertaining Florida swing on the PGA Tour, but all good things must come to an end. This week, the world’s best will head to Bay Hill Club and Lodge for the Arnold Palmer Invitational, hosted by The King himself. The winner will receive the $1,160,000 winner’s share, a beautiful silver trophy and a firm handshake from the seven-time major champion to boot.
The event marks the first of the PGA Tour’s five invitational tournaments–the RBC Heritage, Dean & DeLuca Invitational, Memorial Tournament and Quicken Loans National are the others. The changes from the standard events are minimal–slightly bigger purses, slightly smaller fields, more prestigious hosts and host courses–but they definitely have a different feel about them. Notably, there are fewer rookies and more veteran invitees.
This year’s Arnold Palmer Invitational should provide us with some thrilling golf along with some picturesque scenes–Bay Hill looks fantastic in the springtime. Without further ado, let’s get to it. Here are the best bets for success this week.
