Graeme McDowell turned pro in 2002 after completing a collegiate golf career at the University of Alabama at Birmingham that he topped off with a victorious 2001 Walker Cup performance.

One of the most accurate players off the tee in today’s game, this wily vet from Northern Ireland has collected 14 victories on the European and PGA Tours.

McDowell’s first pro win came at the 2004 Telecom Italia Open.  On 2010 McDowell became the first European to win the US Open since Tony Jacklin in 1970.

Even living in Florida as an Irish ex-pat, McDowell maintains strong ties to Ireland and the European sport community. He’s played on the European Ryder Cup team four time (2008, 2010, 2012, 2014), represented Ireland in the World Cup four times (2008, 2009, 2011, 2013) and the Seve Trophy twice (2005, 2009).  And McDowell could join Rory McIlroy in Rio, playing Olympic golf for Ireland.
