Shane Lowry      Born 1987, Clara, County Offaly

Shane Lowry, although 2 years older than Rory McIlroy, turned pro in 2009, following McIlroy to the tee by 2 years.

Lowry, who started his pro career on the European Tour with some impressive accomplishments as an amateur, is currently considered as one of the major young guns on the PGA TOUR. Having won the 3 Irish Open as an amateur in 2009, Lowry then labored for 3 years before earning his first pro victory, the 2012 Portugal Masters.

In 2015 Lowry recorded a significant win at the WGC-Bridgestone Invitational when he defeated Bubba Watson by 2 shots. With that victory came a 2015-16 PGA TOUR card and a bump up to 25th in the OWGR!
