Darren Clarke    Born 1968, Dungannon, County Tyrone

Darren Clarke turned pro 1990 and has collected 22 victories on the PGA TOUR, European Tour, Sunshine Tour, Japan Golf Tour and the Challenge Tour.

Clarke secured his maiden title at the 1993 Alfred Dunhill Open. The Northern Irishman secured his claim to golf fame when he captured the Open Championship at Royal St. George’s in 2011, his first major win in more than 20 years.

Clarke has served Ireland well, at the World Cup, the Alfred Dunhill Cup, and the Ryder Cup. He played on five consecutive European Ryder Cup teams (1997, 1999, 2002, 2004 and 2006) and was then appointed a non-playing vice captain by Colin Montgomerie in 2010 and by Paul McGinley in 2014.

One of the most passionate men in the world of sports also has historical lineage in the game of golf as his grandfather is a veteran of Futbol, playing for Portadown F.C. Sheffield United, Exeter City, Carlisle United, his father also played futbol, hence his reason for unwavering passion in the game of golf and the persistence to succeed.
