The ANA Inspiration field will battle for the traditional leap into Poppy’s Pond.

The ANA Inspiration field is strong and deep – much as you’d expect for the Tour’s first 2016 major championship.

But it’s a complicated field too. The power rankings for the top 10 in the ANA Inspiration field aren’t as straightforward as you might imagine.

For starters, there is an impressive list of 10 past champions in the field and they add a certain historical resonance to competition at The Dinah: Amy Alcott, who started the Poppy’s Pond leap; Juli Inkster, who didn’t follow Alcott into the pond; Hall of Famer Karrie Webb; Morgan Pressel; Lexi Thompson; Yani Tseng; Sun Young Yoo, Stacy Lewis; Inbee Park; and defending champion Brittany Lincicome.

There are two amateurs in the field who will bear watching: Leona Maguire and Hannah O’Sullivan. An Amateur has never won this championship, but both of these golfers are bringing games to the tee that are more than competitive with the best on the Tour.

Then there are the 2016 champions, the players who are having a hot early season: Hyo Joo Kim, Ha Na Jang, Haru Nomura, Lexi Thompson, and Sei Young Kim. The early winners are young and they’re relatively new to pro golf. But the veterans are heating up and I get the sense that they’re not going to sit back and let the Tour’s Millennials walk off with all the hardware.

But when it’s all said, whether you’re playing Ladies Dream Golf or another fantasy golf game this week, these are my top 10 picks for your fantasy golf team.
