18-year old Jin Cheng will bear watching as he develops his game.

Jin Cheng, the current Asia-Pacific Amateur Champion, is traveling to Augusta National from China.

It’s worth noting that Hideki Matsuyama won the Asia-Pacific Amateur title back-to-back (2010 and 2011) and China’s teen golf sensation, Guan Tianlang, also came to the Masters in 2013 as the Asia-Pacific Amateur Champion.

Jin Cheng, who is 18, has accumulated an impressive resume of amateur victories and, playing as an amateur, has made cuts on the OneAsia Tour and the Asian Tour. He’s currently a freshman at USC and playing collegiate golf for the USC Trojans.
