10th hole (Camellia) – Do you remember Bubba’s hook wedge out of the pine straw in 2012?

Par 4: 495 yards

Rank: 3

Virtual Flyover:

When the leaders come to this tee on Sunday, they walk past the 18th green and they know they have entered the stretch run to finish. The tee shot is very significantly downhill. Because of that we typically see shorter clubs into the green than you might expect on a 495 yard hole.

The most common miss here is to the right. From there it is anyones guess as to whether you will have a shot. That is part of the reason why this hole plays so difficult every year. You can’t advance a ball very far because of the very long bunker in the middle of the fairway.

The green slopes significantly from back right to front right. You have to aim out to the right to get the ball close but if you hang it to far right you will leave yourself in a  very difficult bunker. We see a lot of short putts missed on this hole because of the significant breaks in the green.

The view from the top of the fairway makes this one of the most beautiful holes on a course where every hole is visually spectacular. We have seen a few recent playoffs end on this 10th green as well. None will be more memorable than Bubba Watson’s hook wedge from the pine straw back in 2012 when he took home his first green jacket.
