Round 1 – 77   Round 2 – 72   Leaderboard Status – T47

Kevin Kisner just plain likes playing golf in South Carolina and Georgia. It’s no surprise to see this Masters rookie making the cut on the number. He’s an Aiken, South Carolina native – just down the road from Augusta – and a Georgia Bulldog product. And just to top it all off, he notched his first PGA TOUR win at the RSM Classic last fall on St; Simon’s.

Kisner looked like he was dropping into a slump after the Sony Open in Hawaii in January, but perhaps being back in the South, he’s been energized by the blooming azaleas and the pimento cheese sandwiches.

His 1st round eagle on the 2nd helped to neutralize a back nine triple and by the 2nd round Kisner seemed to be getting things under control. He recorded one of the better 2nd round back nines in the tournament today.

Kudos to these 8 players who made the cut and will play their first weekend at the Masters. It’s the nature of the game – we bade Tom Watson farewell as a Masters competitor and we welcome these Masters rookies.
